The path ran through C++ and Node.js, past embedded systems and FPGAs, and landed on Rust and GPU work — which is where an MMD renderer and a real-time event companion both turn out to live. A software developer, still looking for the next interesting problem.
About kari_mikumao
An engineer chasing adventures in computing.
I build tools for the Miku community from Japan — an MMD engine, an event companion, and the research notes behind both.
What makes Vocaloid culture worth caring about is that creators built it — the songs, the models, the motions, the tools, all of it made by people who simply started. Tools decide who gets to join that. A renderer nobody can run, or a guide nobody can read in their own language, quietly narrows the community. I would rather widen it.
Fix the root cause rather than the symptom, and write the fix so it holds for every input instead of the one that broke. Show provenance for anything predicted. Publish what exists and leave the rest visibly empty — this site has rooms with nothing in them for exactly that reason.
Beginners are welcome, questions are not a nuisance, and knowledge is meant to be shared. This workshop rejects harassment, segregation, misleading technical demonstrations, and exploitative or sexualized treatment of Miku.
Cooking, which I love about as much as coding. Photography. Flying — a private pilot licence earned in 2024. Games, including the arcade hardware worth preserving before it disappears.
The site launches in Japanese and English, with the content model ready for Chinese. Everything here is independent fan work: not affiliated with Crypton Future Media, and Hatsune Miku and related trademarks belong to their respective owners.
